ABOUT ME
My name's Lindsey, I'm 32 years old and I'm a figure skater. Not a great one, but I'm trying to be!
I started skating in July 2011 at the age of 29. In my "other life" I'm a journalist, and my bosses had sent me out to cover a skating story. As part of it, I got to skate with my now-coach for the first time and loved it. I booked my first lesson a week or so later and I've never looked back.
Skating is the only sport I've ever really enjoyed, and definitely the only one I'd miss desperately if for any reason I could no longer do it. Skating is a way of life, not just a hobby. I'm sure if you're reading this, you understand.
No Excuses: Diary of an Adult Skater was started as a bit of fun, and remains mainly that. It's also a way to get my frustrations out on the bad skatey days, and a way for me to chronicle my own progress (or lack thereof!!).
It was never intended to be a masterpiece of writing, but I hope it entertains. I think most adult skaters will identify with some of the issues I come across during my skating life.
