Happy campers!

Well, we WILL be happy campers in August, my friends and I.

In case you haven't heard about this elsewhere, the second annual NISA Adult Development camp has been announced. Yay!

I went to the first of these new camps last year and it was fab so I'm really, really looking forward to this year's. I've been to quite a few adult skating camps over the past couple of years and that one was by far the most valuable. I came out with skills I didn't have before, plus improved ones, and a renewed confidence too. The coaches may not be the same this year (they haven't all been announced yet) but the coaches last year were brilliant. Never did we feel
tossed aside because we were "just adults" and the coaches pushed us just as hard as they would have pushed younger skaters - but at the same time, it was immense fun and no one felt intimidated or overwhelmed (as far as I know, anyway, certainly not among the dozen or so people I've spoken to about it).

So anyway, some of the details are here in case you're interested. There's still quite a bit to be firmed up but the ice is secured - the rest is just awaiting confirmation. I'll be there for sure!

    1. Out of your depth is a state of mind. Everyone's got something to learn, just your stuff was a bit different to other people's stuff :-)

    1. Well thanks Eva! What a nice thing to say :-) I love reading other skatey blogs. Lots of them, including you, are much further ahead than me with their skating but it's nice to have a bit of inspiration, something to aim for.

  3. Oh yay! A new skating blog discovery! I found your blog off of Eva's. I've also just signed up for an adult skate camp, but also across the pond, as Eva says :) Hope you learn lots this summer!

    1. Oooh, thanks for leaving me a comment. It's always lovely to know when someone new's reading your blog. I love hearing about other adult skaters too, so I'll be having a nosey at yours later :-)
